Here is my schedule for Block 2:
1st period: CBA 2
2nd period: DTP 2
3rd period: DTP 2
4th period: Housing & Interior Design
I’ll be updating the pbworks pages this week too, so watch those for syllabi and some assignment/project pages!
We all survived the first week of school. Whew!
I have created a pbworks website for our classes at: http://yomsamos.pbworks.com/
We will mainly be using this site for group projects and project display purposes. My classes can also be found on Edmodo here:
You received a class code to enter your Edmodo class, so refer to your syllabus for that. And you can always ask for another one if you lost it!
This year we are going to attempt to read a novel in each class, or at the very least read enough of a novel to entice you young readers to check the book out of our library to read the rest! I’ll be updating my Library Thing widget over the next several days to show all the books I will have in my room as well. Keep in mind, these books are all from my personal collection or ones I have purchased with the intent of putting them in our class library. Many of them are more female-heroine fiction, because my daughter and I are avid readers, so I’m perusing ebay to beef up our male character based stories too! We want a gender-neutral library.
As an aside to parents…I will be periodically having our librarian review my book purchases & Library Thing widget before bringing the books to the classroom. I will not have time this semester to read every single book before I put it on the shelf, so I will be using her expertise to weed out questionable titles.
Have a great weekend!

Welcome to my class blog for the 2010-11 school year! I’ll be using this space to post weekly class updates, upload important files, and stay in touch with YOU, my students and your parents!
Here’s my class schedule for first block:
- 1st Period – CBA (Computerized Business Applications)
- 2nd Period – Desktop Publishing 1
- 3rd Period – Desktop Publishing 2
- 4th Period – Advertising
I’ll be uploading your syllabus and class policy sheets in a few days, so be watching for those. If you look at my schedule, I won’t be enjoying a “teacher planning period” during the first semester, so I might be a little whacky. (More than usual, I mean). We’ll get through though!
I hope you had a wonderful summer! See you on the 19th!
